Misericordia and Waiting for the sun are a mix between the present trends and vintage inspirations, accompanied with a constant lust to propose both high-end and cozy collections.

The two brands share a common passion for nice materials and artisanal work. While Misericordia garments are exclusively manufactured with great Peruvian materials, Waiting for the Sun sunglasses are entirely made-by-hand in natural raw materials as Australian wood.

It is the reason why Aurelyen adopted immediately this young French brand: “I do like the idea of wooden sunglasses. Sunglasses are no more a fashion accessory but rather a true object of design and lifestyle with Waiting or the Sun.” The feeling is mutual.

Waiting for the Sun designers have imagined a unique piece for Misericordia, made of wood and in a blue color that is emblematic of the fashion brand. Aurelyen decided to ass a personal touch to it by adding poetic wink to the Latin-American culture by embroidering the words “Illumina mi destino” (“Illuminate my destiny”) on the sunglasses.

At a time when department store purchases require the sale of at least one kidney, Shooii is delivering achievable luxury – very special shoes at an understandable price point. Shooii is a freshly launched Australian website that delivers exceptional footwear – fast and for free! For the Shooii team, the status quo of online retail – stark aesthetics and a stale sales process – was simply not enough. With a fresh outlook on sales and product, it is poised as a major contributor to today’s online retail landscape.

The Shooii motivation is to create a personal element to online shopping, with customer service given priority status. A Shooii team member – poised ready in the Brisbane office, not a middle-of-nowhere call center – is there to answer queries through phone, online chat or email. Customers are also encouraged to login via Facebook, pick their personal favourites and share their experience with friends. It’s all about the personal touch.

The Shooii team is very proud of their mixed bag of designers, including personal favourites MORS and Amsterdam Shoe Co. Designs have been selected for the smart casual, the weekend warrior, the dapper and the delightful, the beachcomber and the young gun. Shooii sells footwear that brings style to lifestyles – that is against life compromised for fashion.

As a website, Shooii offers various features including a “type anywhere” search function, On The Foot videos (which offer a unique all-angles view of the shoes) and the Shoostring blog (which gives a special look into various influencers and inspirations of the company).

At the website launch, CEO Dave Prince revealed that the passion behind Shooii has been a healthy obsession since he was a 13-year old stuck working in a suburban sports store. With years for the concept to build, Shooii is now a carefully considered website with razor-sharp looks and personality. Shooii – It’s Shoe Love.

We are passionate about bags. They require a unique combination of characteristics. They must be ergonomic, functional and stylish. We enjoy the challenge of bringing these elements together.

Our design process stems from extensive experience in designing technical packs for specific outdoor activities. We meld the functionality and performance of outdoor equipment with the craftsmanship of couture and the edginess of urban street-style. Our products are designed to excite people and capture their senses. They are engineered to fulfill people’s practical needs and are built to last.

We live in a bustling city and love it. Our bags are designed to add color and form to the urban landscape. We like to think of our products as mobile street art and of our customers as urban curators.

We appreciate products that endure, things one would fix and maintain rather than throw away and replace. We keep this in our minds when we design our bags, it determines the materials we use and the methods of construction we employ.

Our bags are made for strong-minded individuals who demand that their creative spirit, sense of style and need for function and quality are reflected in what they choose to own.

Take a look at our products; chances are that one of was made for you.

“We’re not ecological activists,” says Julien Tual of sustainable-eyewear brand Waiting for the Sun. “Just modern people aware of our need to take care of the world.” A former print designer for Christian Lacroix, Tual—along with codirectors Antoine Mocquard and Alexandre Rabineau—now does his bit by imaginatively hand-carving sunglasses from Australian tea wood and bamboo – all renewable materials that, unlike petrol-based plastic (traditionally used in sunglasses), leave less of a trace on the environment.

But the Paris-based trio insist that wasn’t their only priority. “It’s not part of French culture to focus on being organic,” Tual explains. “We use wood because it’s an interesting material . . . it’s natural, light, and changes color with perspiration and sunlight.” So whether aviators, Wayfarers, or circular John Lennon styles, these sleek, classic frames offer a personal touch by fading with age like love-worn jeans. And the other good news? Buy them up now and you’ll be a chic step ahead of Céline’s fall tree-bark prints.
